I LOVE this! Thank you so much for taking the time to write out how you have been encouraged recently. I love your attitude towards your eldest. I am in a similar situation and am encouraged by your words.

"In doing all these seemingly inconsequential parts of your day, you are building a foundation of love and trust and security in your home. "
Such a true statement Lisa, thank you for that word. Very important to remember this and your words in this blog and definetly the scriptures that go along with the message. I relate as a mom and homemaker at how hard it can be, and we can't do it all so just sit back and take a moment to rest in Him or something good that replenishes your spirit.
God keeps stretching me in the area of how to train up my 7 year old son that is very strong willed. The way I'm being encouraged. Is when I pray for him, spend quality time with him. And pray to not react in the flesh when times are hard but to love him where he is at. Also praying for God's strength and wisdom to know how to overcome the battles. He has a real sweet spirit sometimes and some wonderful qualities, but out of my 3 boys he has been the most challenging. But I keep praying and seeking God. Also, I like to listen to deviotionals on CD. With Beth Moore, Pricilla Shire, and others. Bringing hope and guidance to my day. Also we struggle with our finances in so many ways. But for encouragement I seek The Lord in prayer not only for us but for others. Praying for others helps keep me not so consumed about where were at. Plus I have a couple of devotional books I like to read. One on hope in difficult circumstances (Jesus Today) and the other on prayer.(The war room study guide). Plus my husband works an hour out of town and long hours, so sometimes I struggle with raising our 3 boys without him here. Thankfully, when he is here, he does help with them! But he takes our oldest son to school in the morning and then isn't back from work until about 8:30pm. So that's when the boys are being put to bed. Thankfully The Lord is with me, and His love never fails. And thankfully Jonathan has every Sunday off and some Thursdays off. For encouragement I'm glad we attend church on Sunday mornings and the boys and I on Wednesday night. I am encouraged to hear the Word of The Lord being preached. And last but not least, I am encouraged by sometimes taking the moment to stop and soak in the words to a praise song to Jesus. Turning my eyes on Him.
Also reading your blog and a couple of other ones with moms of young children brings encouragement too.
Keep up your great work, Lisa, your doing a great job as a mom, housewife, teacher and blogger... Thank you for reaching out in this ministry!
