I just heard you on the Crystal Paine show and wanted to check out your blog as a fellow stay at home mom and wife of a husband in ministry. The first post I read by you was this one and although it is an oldie it hit me square in the heart as just this week I had fallen into the comparison trap. It instantly produced anxiety in me as I wondered if I was enough, was what I do enough, and in the end would it all BE enough. I shared these thoughts with my husband and what he said to me was incredibly simple and yet profound. He reminded me in life I was always going to mess up, mess up in relationships, mess up in raising our kids, etc, BUT I was also going to do A LOT right, and in the end I am doing the best I know how and am applying all that I am learning along the way. It was very encouraging and a great reminder. So he said it in other words but in the same context as you put it.. gratitude. I am so thankful for my life, my husband, my kids, my home. It's everything I had ever dreamed of and more. I will always aspire to grow, to learn, to do better, but at the end of the day I am good enough. There is always something so encouraging to know someone has felt and thought the same way, thank you for sharing!

[…] Being hospitable means anticipating your guests needs and what will bless them. It means creating an atmosphere where everyone (including you!) can feel relaxed and comfortable (which in no way means a spotless house!). […]
